Dance opera "Wasteland"
Premiere in 2011
Inspired by the work Simulacra and Simulation by Jean Baudrillard and the film of Rodrigo Plá The Desert Within, the creators of the dance opera Wasteland approach the theme of simulation; the simulation of the relationships in modern society, caused by a surfeit of information.
The minimalist choreography created by Agnija Šeiko is accompanied by complex music compositions of Jonas Sakalauskas, whereas the text pronounced on stage becomes sort of a noisy speech.
In 2012 Agnija Šeiko was awarded for The Thanksgiving Mask - Klaipėda's theatre award.
